Bright Lights in 2021

​Thanks to our supporters, we distributed 20,000 solar Luke Lights and Chandler Chargers in 2021. Read more for project highlights and vital impacts that are lighting the world. ​

Here are a few highlights of the impacts our supports enabled in 2021: 

• Started a new Gift of Light Grant program to increase inclusivity in our giving, reach new diverse partners, and continue to have an impact where it’s most needed. 
• Sent lights to students in Malawi, The Gambia, Ghana, Uganda, Honduras and the Philippines.
• Aided on the ground recovery in Haiti after the earthquake. We also responded to disasters in Texas and Louisiana. 
• Served our neighbors experiencing homelessness, from New York and Rhode Island to Arizona, Idaho, Texas and California. We are proud to provide power and light so that people can access medical care, connect to resources and feel safer at night. 
• Kicked off a research project in Honduras to ensure our Luke Lights are living up to our promise and delivering the impacts that catalyze true change in the lives of people we serve.  
• Pursued the Carbon Offset project expansion with dogged determination. We have had several groups of students from UC Santa Barbara and Berkeley researching and calculating, as well as creating a business plan for this program. We are optimistic that we will be able to roll out an expanded project in 2022.

Keep Shining Bright
The last two years have been tough on all of us. The toll of the COVID-19 pandemic has meant that fewer people have access to healthcare, education and economic opportunities. The support of our community has ensured that Unite to Light has continued to help those who are most in need across the globe. The impact is huge and the investment is small. ​

For as little as $10, we can send a light almost anywhere in the world. A single solar Luke Light or Chandler Charger can:

• Educate students from Africa to South America who struggle to complete their education in the dark.
• Improve health outcomes for new mothers and their babies. 
• Provide hope for people who have lost everything in a disaster. 
• Supply the tools people living on the streets need to connect to healthcare and support services.
