Supporting Communities Affected by the Eaton Fire The Eaton Fire ravaged over 14,000 acres in Los Angeles County. Homes, schools, and entire neighborhoods have been reduced to ashes. Among the hardest-hit areas is Altadena, where the impact on families and communities is profound. Unite to Light has been on the ground, working to provide a ray of hope through our solar Chandler Chargers and Luke Lights. These tools are empowering people to navigate the darkness and stay connected during this challenging time. Community Support Along the Evacuation Border In Altadena, we witnessed the incredible resilience and generosity of the community. Along Woodbury Road, just across from the evacuation border, neighbors have set up donation hubs to support evacuees. Food, water, clothes, and other necessities are being offered to those in need. One such hub is hosted by Jose Velasquez (pictured above) and his family, who transformed their home into a center of relief. Jose shared how important it was for him to give back, offering his neighbors a sense of stability amid the chaos.
Partnering with Direct Relief In addition to community efforts, we have partnered with Direct Relief to distribute solar chargers to local clinics throughout Los Angeles. These chargers are helping ensure that medical staff and patients have reliable access to power in areas still grappling with outages. Whether it’s charging medical devices or staying connected with loved ones, these tools are making a tangible difference. A Call for Continued Support We are deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed to Unite to Light’s disaster response efforts. Your donations enable us to bring light and power to those who need it most during crises. If you’d like to help, please consider donating and selecting “Disaster Response” as your designation. Together, we can provide hope and practical support to those recovering from this tragedy. Thank you for standing with us and the communities we serve. Let’s continue to shine a light in the darkest of times.
